Today, third year Graphic Design students from the University of Chester held their first major exhibition in the city. In order to raise funds for our end of year Degree Show, which will take place in June 2013, we held the exhibition of limited edition prints, inspired by quotes, at Alexander’s Bar. All of the posters were designed by us, the students, and printed in a variety of formats including screenprint, digital print and riso print, and limited to just 10 examples of each.
The first night of the exhibition was held at Watergates Bar, located on Watergate Street, where tutors and industry professionals had the opportunity to view and purchase our prints. The exhibition was then moved to Alexander’s Bar on the Saturday morning (today), and opened from 12.00-5.00pm. It was great to have support from the people who came to view the exhibition, and even those who bought our prints. The team at Alexander’s were also great to have on board.
Credit goes to Kieran Riddiough of Nice Swan Creative and Tom Wrench of Screenager Design who were the main brains behind the exhibition. A big thank you also goes to everybody else that was involved in producing the publicity, circulating flyers, building the display frame and transporting it all, as well as those who came to help out and support us.
Our final degree show will take place in June, so keep your eyes out for more information on that in the near future.
